Many people collaborate on projects via e-mail. But e-mail threads can be cumbersome, attached documents can get lost, and who has the latest version anyway? Wikis solve all that by allowing everyone who has access to a page to read and change it. Check out this 3-minute video explanation provided by BNet here.

Glad you liked the video and shared it with your readers. The technology chasm can be even greater when you work for a non-profit (I did for three years) and simply don’t have the funds to buy the latest and greatest gadgets. Tools like the Wiki, however, make sense when you need to work collaboratively with folks in different areas or locations. And, unlike some work tools, you don’t have to install a special application on everyone’s PC. Of course, like any business tool, it may not suit everyone’s needs!
